Towels provide an important role in all of our day-to-day lives.
Whether it's wrapping up in a bath sheet after a relaxing bath or hot shower, lounging on a beach towel poolside or by the ocean, or simply just drying off your hands, we use towels every day.
That's why it is so vitally important to us that all of the towels, and indeed bath mats that we make, are crafted in the most ethical and safest manner possible. Consumer safety is always at the forefront of everything we do.
In this blog, we will explain both what the meaning of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification and why we choose to carry it on our products.
What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification?
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification is one of the world's best known independent product labels for textiles tested for harmful substances.
If a textile piece carries this label, you can be sure that every single component of the product has been thoroughly tested for any harmful chemicals, guaranteeing that none were used at any stage of production.
These tests are carried out independently by third party labs and must meet all of the extensive criteria, which is updated at least one a year on the basis of new scientific information or statutory requirements.
You can also check the validity of the certification at any time, using the number shown on the OEKO-TEX label.
Why do we choose to be STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® verified?
We want you to buy with confidence and make responsible buying decisions.
That is why we use this certification - we want you to be sure in the knowledge that all of our products are safe and healthy to use and that all of our products are free from harmful dyes or chemicals.
Not only does the certification protect you, but it also protects the planet too.
It keeps a range of chemicals, which can be damaging to the environment, out of every stage of the manufacturing process, and in turn, increasing the sustainability of our products.
Always ethically sourced
As well as the OEK-OTEX certification, it is our long-standing policy to ensure that purchasing related matters are conducted in an ethical and proper manner.
That's why we ensure that our of our products are produced in a factory that has Sedex Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI) approval, that ensures that sustainable business practices are employed.
Sedex provides practical tools, services and a community network to help companies improve their responsible and sustainable business practices.
They can also help to better manage social and environmental performance, and protect people working in the supply chain from exploitation.
This way, you can buy from us knowing that all of the artisans making our wonderful creations are treated fairly and paid properly.
