We understand that one of the main factors behind your decision to purchase a bath mat is whether it is non-slip or not.
When choosing a bath or pedestal mat for your home, you consider the design, the colour and the material.
But when it comes to safety, non-slip bath mats are by far the best choice for you and your family. Here's why...
We want to make sure that you are as safe as you can be every time that you step out of a relaxing bath or a hot shower.
That is why here at Allure Bath Fashions, every single one of our bath mats features either a slip-resistant backing or we will provide you with a free sheet of non-slip underlay to guarantee maximum safety with every use.
Having a non-slip bath mat dramatically increases safety in the bathroom. It ensures that the mat will remain securely in place, even on a potentially wet and slippery bathroom floor.
This will give you peace of mind that you need, especially if you have young children or elderly people living with you.
In the UK, it is estimated that 2.7 million people annually visit their local A&E departments as a result of an injury suffered at home.
Slips and falls are believed the be the second most common home accident, disproportionately affecting the very young and the very old. That is why taking every possible measure to reduce the chances of this is vital.
Nowadays, more and more people are opting for tiled or laminated floors in their bathroom.
Whether that be down to the ease of cleaning and maintaining, or to reduce dust levels and keeping allergies under control, it is becoming more and more common.
This makes having a non-slip bath mat even more important, helping to reduced the chances of the bath mat from sliding underneath you and to minimise the risk of slips and accidents in the bathroom.
This is why we ensure that our mats are fit for purpose in these modern times.
A range of options
We have a broad range of mats with a variety of slip-resistant backings designed to suit your tastes.
Our Microfibre Bath Mats and Pedestal Mats feature a non-slip Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) backing.
This type of backing has become more popular in recent years, mainly down to the fact that it is a more environmentally friendly option.
TPR backing has the properties of both plastic and rubber. It is particularly strong and durable, but is also reusable and recyclable.
It is a synthetic material which avoids any possible allergic reactions to natural latex and can also be hung to dry on a radiator without the risk of cracking.
On the other hand, our Kempton Bath Mat features a latex rubber backing.
This type of backing is well-suited to hard flooring, keeping it securely in place every single time.
The rubber latex also keeps the bath mat lightweight making it easy to lift up and move around your bathroom. It also suitable for machine washing, making it an easy care option for your bathroom.
But be aware, this mat may not be suited to heated floors as the rubber can crack, making it less reliably non-slip.
If you are looking for a less distinguishable non-slip backed bath mat, why not check out our Bobli Mat.
Hot melt backing is applied to these bath mats to give them a non-slip finish. Hot melt is a fast-drying, nonvolatile adhesive, which is applied to these mats in a molten state.
It is a permanent finish, meaning that no matter how many times you machine wash your Bobli Bath Mat, the slip-resistant finish will never disappear.
Going the extra mile
We care about our customers - this is why we want to ensure that all feel as safe as can be when stepping on to one of our many bath mats.
Due to the delicate, hand-woven nature of some of our mats, not all come with a slip-resistant backing.
This is why that any mats without, we supply free of charge a cut-to-size sheet of non-slip underlay to maximise your safety and security.
This 100% polyethylene underlay ensures improved grip for all mats without an anti-slip backing. It can be used on all types of flooring, including bathrooms with underfloor heating.
Once the underlay starts to lose it's friction, simply wash it and re-use it to remove any insecurity when stepping out on our bath mat.
These bath mats are designed so that both sides can be used, so it does not have an anti-slip backing.
However, at 2200gsm, this is one of our heaviest mats, with the added weight designed to hold it in place. For extra assurance, you can still use a sheet of non-slip rubber underlay underneath.
